Deb Wendtland grew up in a Wyoming homestead family in Torrington, Wyoming on the family dry land wheat farm as the third child of four girls.
After completing high school in 1981, she attended undergraduate university at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota where she was a national debate champion. She graduated with a bachelor’s of arts in speech communications and a second bachelor’s of arts in political science in 1985.
Next Deb attended the Wyoming College of Law in Laramie – graduating with her juris doctor degree in 1988. She worked in Salt Lake City, Utah for the firm of Ray, Quinney & Nebecker for about two years and then chose to return home to Wyoming where she practiced in Torrington with the firm of Sawyer & Kautz. In 1990 she married Tony and moved to Sheridan. She practiced as a partner in Connor & Wendtland for seven years and then practiced with Davis & Cannon until 2005 when she opened Wendtland & Wendtland, LLP with Tony.
Deb has developed an interesting practice that melds complex trust, estate and real estate practice and litigation with a growing adoption practice. Her cases have involved unique challenges to large scale developments, large family trust disputes, large real estate transactions and occasional personal injury cases. She has a personal passion for her growing adoption case load and was recently inducted into the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, a select national group of highly experienced and qualified adoption attorneys. In her free time she enjoys hiking and exploring Wyoming for fossils and interesting geology.
