Profile Description


Mr. Tran graduated from UC Berkeley (B.A.) and the American University Washington College of Law (J.D.). He completed his Executive Education studies in Healthcare Management at the Yale School of Management.

In law school, Mr. Tran served under the Obama administration for the United States Department of Justice (Appellate Tax Division, Civil Trial Section), the United States Department of the Treasury (Office of Legal Counsel for the CDFI Fund and Office of Chief Counsel for the U.S. Mint), and the Federal Communications Commission (International Bureau, Telecommunications and Analysis Division). He also clerked for Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC and served as an Articles Editor for the Administrative Law Review and the Editor in Chief for The Modern American Law Brief.

Before joining Pleiss Sitar McGrath Hunter & Hallack, Mr. Tran worked for the City Attorney for the City of Baldwin Park, litigating municipal liability claims and advising council members and city staff on navigating complex regulatory requirements imposed by local, state, and federal laws. Mr. Tran was also an associate at a private firm, defending against medical malpractice and employment discrimination claims. He also worked as a Staff Attorney at the Public Law Center, where he represented low income individuals and families in conservatorship proceedings and administrative hearings appealing the denial of Social Security benefits.

He is published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal and the Orange County Lawyer Magazine. Mr. Tran currently serves as a Board Member for the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Southern California and as legal counsel to the Los Angeles chapter of Project by Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers the Asian American community through leadership building. Mr. Tran was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois, and enjoys reading works by Adam Grant and Malcolm Gladwell and listening to country music.
